UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine has partnered with Oscar’s Place to refresh The Donkey Welfare Symposium coming out of the Covid era.
Some considerations for 2024 include more live in-person presentations, less pre-recorded videos, more dialogue style presentations with Q&A and less lectures.
For 2024 programming specifically we asked prior attendees what they wanted to learn. Overwhelmingly, the feedback from both enthusiasts and professionals was to revisit the basics of donkey care.
With that in mind each session is designed to help create a better world for donkeys. Topics not included in the 2024 program will be included in future programming as well as post conference year round continuing education, more details to come.
We have also returned to a 2 and half day format. Friday’s programming will be focused on those who manage herds, Saturday on the donkey champion, and Sunday on professionals.
